Theatres for Cockermouth

Kirkgate Arts

The Kirkgate Centre, Kirkgate, Cockermouth CA13 9PJ, UK – 01900 829966

Great arts venue in the centre of Cockermouth adjacent to easy parking. Very helpful staff. My band Soul Junction played there during Cockermouth Live! Festival and we were treated superbly.

This offers a variety of arts presentations. We went to see a film. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The theatre was well laid out, although seats were not those usually found in a cinema. Nevertheless projection was clear, view unobstructed and conferrable enough to watch the entire film.

Hundith Hill Hotel

Lorton Vale, Cockermouth CA13 9TH, UK – 01900 822092

Love this place. Fabulous rooms, gorgeous food and friendly staff, in a lovely setting. So peaceful and also nicely placed for Woolfest. Will be back again, for sure.

Just been to hundith hill for Sunday lunch and both me and my wife thought the meal was fantastic. The staff were polite and very helpful a credit to the hotel. We would definitely return again.

National Trust - Wordsworth House and Garden

Main Street, Cockermouth CA13 9RX, UK – 01900 824805

What a lovely place to visit. Staff are so welcoming and informative. You are being transported back in time throughout the house. Garden is also set out as it would have been years ago Lots to do for children. An activity trail leads them throughout the tour with a poignant message throughout. House over 4 levels so not easy for buggies etc.A National Trust attraction run by volunteers. Highly recommend a visit here

Lovely garden and fantastic house. There is information provided at a small cost by the entrance. As we walked around there were a few people dressed up in period clothing and there was a sample of Kendal ginger bread - the recipe was also provided. The garden was very well kept and there were quoted from the Wordsworth's written on slates amongst the flowers. I certainly recommend visiting here.
